Celebrating Women’s History Month
Honoring Beulah Frogge:
A Legacy of Leadership and Giving
March is Women's History Month, a time to celebrate the contributions of women who have shaped our communities for the better. Among them is Beulah M. Frogge, a trailblazing leader whose generosity continues to make an impact in Muncie and Delaware County.
A native of Pall Mall, Tennessee, Beulah spent most of her life in Muncie, building a remarkable career in business and financial management. She held leadership roles at HLH Products, Inc., Indiana Bridge Company, and in the medical field. But beyond her professional accomplishments, Beulah was deeply committed to her community—serving with the Muncie Boys' Club, United Way, and the Chamber of Commerce Academy for Community Leadership, as well as lending her talents to Altrusa International Club of Muncie, IN.
Beulah believed in developing one’s talents, taking risks, and embracing life’s challenges with "freedom and dignity." This philosophy guided not only her career but also her philanthropy. With a gift from her estate, the Beulah M. Frogge Fund was established at The Community Foundation, ensuring her legacy of giving would continue long after her lifetime.
Her generosity didn’t stop there. Beulah also planned for the care of a loved one, structuring her estate so that, years after her passing in 2007, a residual gift would further grow her fund. Since the Beulah M. Frogge Fund began grantmaking in 2013, it has awarded nearly $200,000 to support broad community needs—helping countless people in Muncie and Delaware County.
Beulah’s story is a powerful reminder that philanthropy isn’t just about wealth—it’s about vision, planning, and a deep commitment to community. Her generosity continues to fuel opportunities for others, embodying the very spirit of Women’s History Month.
This March, we celebrate Beulah and the many women who have shaped our community through leadership and giving. Their legacies remind us that, through philanthropy, one person can truly make a lasting difference.
